Reporting Manager – Resort Manager
Job Summary:
As a Resort Horticulture Manager, your role is pivotal in ensuring the aesthetic appeal, ecological sustainability, and overall ambience of the resort's outdoor spaces.
Landscape Design and Maintenance:
- Collaborate with landscape architects or designers to conceptualize and implement landscaping plans that enhance the resort's visual appeal and guest experience.
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of gardens, lawns, flowerbeds, and other outdoor amenities, ensuring they align with the resort's theme and branding.
Plant Selection and Care:
- Select and procure plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers that thrive in the resort's climate and complement its architectural style.
- Develop and implement plant care protocols, including watering schedules, fertilization routines, pest control measures, and pruning practices to maintain healthy and vibrant vegetation.
Environmental Sustainability:
- Implement sustainable horticultural practices, such as water conservation, composting, and integrated pest management, to minimize the resort's environmental footprint.
- Incorporate native and drought-tolerant plant species into the landscape design to reduce water usage and support local biodiversity.
Outdoor Recreational Spaces:
- Manage the upkeep of outdoor recreational facilities, such as golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pools, and walking trails, to ensure they are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to guest activities and events.
Guest Engagement and Experience:
- Enhance the guest experience by creating inviting outdoor spaces that encourage relaxation, recreation, and exploration.
- Organize horticultural tours, workshops, and activities to educate guests about the resort's flora and fauna, gardening techniques, and environmental conservation efforts.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for horticultural projects, including plant procurement, landscaping renovations, equipment purchases, and maintenance expenses.
- Optimize resource allocation, such as labor, equipment, and supplies, to achieve cost-effectiveness while maintaining high standards of landscape aesthetics and environmental stewardship.
Team Leadership and Training:
- Recruit, train, and supervise horticultural staff, including gardeners, landscapers, and maintenance technicians, to ensure they possess the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that values creativity, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Timely compliance of Performance Management system to be adhered.
- Ensure departmental attrition is controlled as per the Budgeted guidelines.
- Manage Employee satisfaction within the department.
- Manage communication effectively.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure internal and statutory compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards governing horticultural practices, landscape design, pesticide use, and workplace safety.
- Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments of outdoor areas to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks to guests, employees, and the environment.
Client and Stakeholder Relations
:
- Liaise with clients, property owners, or stakeholders to understand their horticultural needs and preferences.
- Provide expert advice, recommendations, and proposals for landscape design, plant selection, and maintenance services.
- Address client concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Take the necessary steps to achieve the Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index score.
Documentation and Reporting
:
- Maintain accurate records of horticultural activities, including planting schedules, maintenance logs, and inventory management.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and proposals to communicate project status, performance metrics, and future plans to management or clients.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes relevant to horticulture management.
By fulfilling these responsibilities, you'll play a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for resort guests while preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.
