About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented
Civil Engineer (Work Manager)
to join our team at the
Ministry of Information & Broadcasting - All India Radio
. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in civil and electrical works, experience in managing public infrastructure projects, and the ability to handle both original and maintenance works across government premises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare estimates by collecting data, site planning, and drafting rough drawings.
  • Supervise civil work to ensure adherence to design, quality, and safety standards.
  • Issue construction materials and tools on time to avoid delays.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of government materials and equipment.
  • Record and verify measurements for completed works and calculate earthwork levels.
  • Prepare billing and consumption statements, work abstracts, and recovery details.
  • Submit regular progress reports and flag work hindrances or delays.
  • Maintain registers for cement, curing, testing, stocks, and staff attendance.
  • Inspect building safety and report structural issues.
  • Draft completion drawings and statements for deviations, substitutions, or extra items.
  • Prepare cost estimates for alterations, repairs, and additional work.
  • Monitor occupancy of government buildings and report encroachments.
  • Handle accident reporting and emergency response coordination.
  • Check tenders, architectural drawings, arbitration cases, and material approvals.
  • Supervise electrical construction, installation, and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain stock records of electrical items and tools.
  • Verify complaints and supervise resolution efficiency.
  • Submit monthly electrical reports and returns (Form 35C, Form 8, etc.).
  • Maintain attendance records of labor and staff.
  • Assist in preparing installation layouts and cost estimates.
  • Verify energy usage and ensure accurate billing.
  • Generate and submit internal billing statements for electricity consumption.

Qualifications

  • Diploma (3-year regular course) or Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Preference given to candidates with higher qualifications or relevant experience in government or corporate organizations.
  • Proficiency in computer operations.
  • Maximum age:
    45 years
    as of the date of application.

Reporting Structure

The selected engineer will report to the
Junior Engineer (JE), Assistant Engineer (AE), or Executive Engineer (EE)
in charge of the jurisdiction where they are posted.

Contract Duration

This is a
2-year contract
, which may be extended based on performance and organizational requirements.
