Frontend UI Developer (Medical Imaging Software Project)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Frontend UI Developer to design and implement the user interface for our imaging software platform. The developer will focus on creating a modern, intuitive, and efficient interface for clinicians and engineers, integrating Qt-based frontends with underlying visualization pipelines (VTK/ITK) and computer vision modules.

This role ensures the software is usable, polished, and workflow-driven, bridging advanced imaging capabilities with an accessible user experience.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and implement Qt-based application windows and layouts.

* Build custom widgets for:

* Slice navigation (axial, coronal, sagittal views).

* Window/level adjustment sliders.

* Zoom, pan, rotate, reset view controls.

* Crosshair synchronization toggles.

* 3D rendering controls (lighting, opacity, transfer functions).

* Integrate VTK rendering widgets into the Qt framework.

* Develop toolbars, docking panels, and shortcuts for efficient workflows.

* Ensure responsive, fluid UI scaling across displays.

* Implement annotations, ROI drawing, and measurement tools in collaboration with the AI/OpenCV developer.

* Polish visuals with a custom theme (dark UI with medical-friendly high-contrast highlights).

* Work closely with the ITK/VTK developer to link UI controls with rendering pipelines.

* Optimize UI performance for real-time interaction with large datasets.

Required Skills

* Strong experience with Qt (Qt Widgets, QML optional).

* Solid background in C++ development.

* Experience embedding VTK views into Qt applications.

* Knowledge of UI/UX principles for professional/technical software.

* Ability to implement scalable, modular, and reusable components.

Preferred Skills

* Familiarity with medical imaging workflows (MPR, DICOM viewers).

* Experience with cross-platform UI development (Windows, Linux, macOS).

* Prior work on annotation tools, measurement overlays, or graphics UI.
