Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated 
Pentaho Developer
 to join our client's data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in developing, maintaining, and optimizing ETL processes using 
Pentaho Data Integration (PDI)
. This role requires a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, database design, and scripting skills to support enterprise-level data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain 
    ETL workflows
     and 
    data pipelines
     using 
    Pentaho Data Integration (Kettle)
    .
  • Integrate data from multiple sources including relational databases, flat files, APIs, and cloud data platforms.
  • Perform data cleansing, transformation, and aggregation to support analytics and reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with 
    data analysts
    , 
    business intelligence teams
    , and 
    DBAs
     to understand data requirements and ensure data accuracy and availability.
  • Optimize ETL jobs for 
    performance
    , 
    scalability
    , and 
    error handling
    .
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ETL workflows and data inconsistencies.
  • Create and maintain 
    technical documentation
     for ETL processes and data flows.

Required Skills:

  • 4-5 years of experience in 
    Pentaho Data Integration (PDI/Kettle)
    .
  • Strong knowledge of 
    SQL
     and working experience with 
    relational databases
     such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
  • Experience with 
    data warehousing concepts
    , 
    ETL best practices
    , and 
    data modeling
    .
  • Proficiency in 
    scripting languages
     like 
    Shell Script
    , 
    Python
    , or 
    JavaScript
     for data manipulation and automation.
  • Familiarity with 
    version control tools
     (e.g., Git) and 
    CI/CD pipelines
     for ETL deployment.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
