Technical Mastery:

  • Proficient in C, C++/C++11/14/17, multi-threading, Linux system internals, build systems (CMake, Meson, Make), IPC, and debugging.
  • Expertise in multimedia frameworks (GStreamer, FFmpeg, DRM systems, media streaming).
  • Strong background in OOAD, socket programming, cross-compilation, Linux services/daemons.
  • Experience with media stack optimization, adaptive streaming, and device performance tuning.

Leadership & Practice Building:

  • Proven ability to lead large, distributed teams and mentor senior engineers/architects.
  • Experience in setting up competency frameworks, training programs, and CoEs.
  • Ability to drive KPIs, metrics, and governance models for delivery excellence.

Presales & Business Acumen:

  • Strong experience in proposal writing, solutioning, and RFP responses.
  • Customer-facing experience with proven success in winning deals and scaling accounts.
  • Ability to define go-to-market offerings for embedded systems.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Effective communicator, able to articulate technical concepts to senior executives and clients.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product, QA, security, and data teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of WebSockets, REST APIs, Docker, Conan pkg manager, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • Familiarity with unit test frameworks (GoogleTest, Catch2, BDD), Python, Rust.
  • Basic understanding of cryptography, TCP/UDP packet analysis, and security practices.
  • Exposure to cloud-connected embedded devices (IoT/Edge).

Career Impact & Growth

  • 3 months: Establish practice structure, define frameworks, mentor initial team, and support presales efforts.
  • 6 months: Own practice KPIs, lead presales deals, strengthen client trust, and expand the team.
  • 12 months: Position the Embedded Development practice as a strategic growth driver with reusable accelerators, strong delivery metrics, and recognized customer value.

  • BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience

Roles and Responsibilities

Practice Leadership & Strategy

  • Build and scale the Embedded Development practice with a strong governance model.
  • Define technology roadmap, reusable assets, accelerators, and best practices.
  • Drive innovation in multimedia frameworks, Linux system design, connectivity, and device integration.
  • Mentor, coach, and upskill architects, developers, and testers within the practice.
  • Set KPIs, dashboards, and metrics to monitor delivery excellence and practice health.

Delivery Oversight

  • Guide teams in design, architecture, and development of embedded software for consumer electronic devices (TVs, media players, IoT, automotive, etc.).
  • Ensure technical excellence through design reviews, architecture guidance, and code quality governance.
  • Establish automation and tools for quality measurement and defect detection.
  • Drive performance improvements across media stack, playback, streaming, and system-level optimizations.

Presales & Business Development

  • Partner with sales and account teams in RFP/RFI responses, solution proposals, and client presentations.
  • Identify opportunities for embedded engineering in consumer electronics, automotive, and connected devices.
  • Build reusable solution accelerators and demos for customer showcases.
  • Act as a technical SME in customer discussions, positioning our offerings competitively.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with global clients as a trusted advisor for embedded solutions.
  • Translate product requirements into robust architectures and implementation plans.
  • Represent the organization in technical forums, conferences, and thought leadership initiatives.
