About the Role
We are seeking a Histopathology Technician with hands-on experience in specimen preparation, staining, and slide analysis. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of histopathological processes and maintain a high level of accuracy and quality in laboratory work.
You will be responsible for assisting pathologists in diagnosing diseases by preparing and examining tissue samples, ensuring adherence to all laboratory protocols and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, register, and prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
- Perform tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining procedures (H&E, special stains, etc.).
- Operate and maintain histopathology laboratory equipment.
- Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and storage of samples and slides.
- Maintain quality control and ensure accuracy and consistency in test results.
- Assist in maintaining lab records, inventory, and compliance with medical laboratory standards.
- Support pathologists during diagnostic review and reporting processes.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Sound knowledge of histopathological techniques and laboratory procedures.
- Proficiency in operating microtomes, tissue processors, and staining machines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately.
- Good organizational, record-keeping, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team within a hospital or diagnostic lab setup.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in medical laboratories or hospitals, particularly in the histopathology department.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and quality management systems (QMS).
