Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Golang Engineer to join our Payments Engineering team at Uber. The role focuses on Engineering Excellence initiatives, where you will design and implement scalable, reusable solutions that improve performance and reliability across multiple Payments teams.

Preferred candidate profile


• Golang strong proficiency in Go concurrency patterns, goroutines, channels, and memory management


• Microservices Architecture – building scalable backend systems in Go


• RESTful APIs & gRPC – design and implementation in Go


• Databases – SQL (MySQL/Postgres) + NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis)


• Messaging/Streaming – Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ


• Cloud Platforms – AWS / GCP (services for compute, networking, storage)


• CI/CD – Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Go-specific tooling


• Testing in Go – Go testing frameworks (e.g., testing, testify)


• System Design – distributed systems, scalability, high availability
