Job Profile:

We are seeking a motivated Server Security Intern to assist in managing, monitoring, and securing our server and network infrastructure. The intern will work closely with the IT Infrastructure & Security team to support server configuration, data backup practices, network monitoring, and incident troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in configuring and maintaining servers and network systems.
  • Support server security activities including patching, updates, and threat monitoring.
  • Perform data backup, restoration, and verification using tools such as Veritas and tape libraries.
  • Monitor server performance, uptime, and network connectivity.
  • Assist with Windows/Solaris/UNIX server administration and virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware).
  • Support Email Administration and Anti-Virus Management.
  • Gain exposure to storage systems including SAN and NAS.
  • Troubleshoot basic server and network issues such as connectivity failures, slow performance, and permission errors.
  • Assist in the management of network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Help with Active Directory tasks (user account management, group policies, permissions).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network topology, server configurations, and routine procedures.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Graduate (C.S/ IT)
  • Basic understanding of server operating systems: Windows, UNIX, Solaris.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware).
  • Knowledge of storage systems (SAN, NAS) and backup solutions.
  • Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls).
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for hardware, network, and server-related issues.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a team environment.
