Role Overview

As a Senior FPGA & Computer Architecture Research Engineer, you'll lead groundbreaking projects that bring our reconfigurable computing vision to life. This role will span architecture design, FPGA innovation, hardware/software integration, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Leadership:
Define and implement next-gen reconfigurable computing architectures and hardware–software partitioning strategies.

FPGA Design & Optimization:
Design, simulate, and optimize FPGA logic (with Verilog/VHDL) tailored to computational workloads and hardware efficiency.

·       
Hardware Acceleration:
Collaborate with software teams to integrate FPGA modules for AI, robotics, and edge compute (e.g., Vaaman and Axon).

Compiler & Toolchain Integration:
Compiler & Toolchain Integration: Enable compiler-driven hardware acceleration through automated ONNX-to-FPGA translation and streamlined driver and bitstream generation tools.

Performance Analysis:
Use profiling, benchmarking, and simulation to ensure efficient system performance.

·
Research & Prototyping:
Adapt academic advances (LLVM/MLIR, architecture-specific optimization) for real-world deployments.

Mentorship & Collaboration:
Guide junior engineers, share knowledge, and foster innovation.

Required Expertise

· Proven track record in FPGA design using Verilog/VHDL and synthesis tools.

· Solid foundation in computer architecture, parallel computing, and hardware–software co-design.

· Proficiency in C/C++, and compiler toolchains; familiarity with LLVM, MLIR, or similar frameworks is valued.

· Experience integrating hardware accelerators with software (abstractions, drivers, toolchains).

· Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments, scripting (Python/Bash), and Git or CI/CD pipelines.

· Strong performance analysis and optimization skills.

· Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Desirable/Add-on Qualifications

· Knowledge of edge computing platforms and SoCs (e.g., RK3399, RK3588).

· Experience authoring research, whitepapers, or academic prototypes.

· Background in robotics, autonomous systems, or AI inference accelerators.
