Job Description – Offshore Tech Lead

Position Type: Full-time (On-roll, not contract)

Location: Ambattur (Work from Office) – must be flexible for night shifts (not permanent night shift)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead to join our Chennai Datamark team. This is a dual-role position combining hands-on software development (60%) with leadership responsibilities (40%). The Tech Lead will lead a team of 4–5 developers and validation engineers, drive technical excellence, and contribute directly to active development tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership (40%)

  • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of developers and validation engineers.
  • Conduct sprint planning, reviews, standups, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and ensure development best practices.
  • Drive career growth, team performance, and innovation culture.

Hands-on Development (60%)

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-quality software.
  • Debug and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Participate in architectural decisions and coding standards.
  • Implement CI/CD, testing frameworks, and DevOps best practices.
  • Stay updated with modern technologies and frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • 2+ years of proven leadership experience.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of microservices, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
