About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with hands-on expertise in working with (open-source GPS tracking platform). The role involves customizing and extending Traccar features, optimizing performance, and implementing business-specific logic.

Engagement Type:

  • Duration: 3 month (with possibility of extension)
  • Part-time / Freelance (remote)

Responsibilities:

  • Customize and extend the Traccar backend (Java).
  • Implement computed attributes, device integrations, and reporting features.
  • Debug and resolve protocol, attribute, and tracking-related issues.
  • Collaborate with our team to align features with business requirements.

Requirements:

  • Strong Java development experience (3+ years).
  • Proven experience working with Traccar source code.
  • Familiarity with GPS tracking protocols, WebSocket/API integrations.
  • Good problem-solving and debugging skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with frontend frameworks (React/Angular) for Traccar web UI.
  • Familiarity with databases (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
