- Marinating and seasoning: Marinate meats, seafood, and vegetables with authentic spices and yogurt to develop deep flavor profiles.
- Tandoor operation: Operate and maintain the tandoor oven, ensuring proper temperatures are reached and sustained for perfect cooking.
- Food safety and hygiene: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintain a clean and organized workstation, and ensure proper handling of raw and cooked foods.
- Menu management: Assist in developing new recipes and menu items, and ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes and company standards.
- Inventory and supplies: Monitor and manage the inventory of tandoori ingredients and supplies, and order them as needed.
- Team collaboration: Work with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and the timely preparation of dishes.
Qualifications and skills
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining a tandoor oven.
- Knowledge of traditional Indian cooking techniques, spices, and marination.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
