  • Dish preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of tandoori dishes, such as chicken tikka, seekh kebab, naan, and other meats, seafood, and vegetables, ensuring they meet quality and consistency standards.
  • Marinating and seasoning: Marinate meats, seafood, and vegetables with authentic spices and yogurt to develop deep flavor profiles.
  • Tandoor operation: Operate and maintain the tandoor oven, ensuring proper temperatures are reached and sustained for perfect cooking.
  • Food safety and hygiene: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintain a clean and organized workstation, and ensure proper handling of raw and cooked foods.
  • Menu management: Assist in developing new recipes and menu items, and ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes and company standards.
  • Inventory and supplies: Monitor and manage the inventory of tandoori ingredients and supplies, and order them as needed.
  • Team collaboration: Work with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and the timely preparation of dishes.

Qualifications and skills

  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining a tandoor oven.
  • Knowledge of traditional Indian cooking techniques, spices, and marination.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
