Western Vocalist

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Western Vocalist to teach vocal music to students across different age groups in the boarding cum day boarding school. The candidate should have a strong foundation in Western classical and contemporary vocal techniques and be capable of training solo and group performers for school events, competitions, Founder's Day etc.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging vocal music lessons for school students with different age groups.

Train students in Western classical, contemporary, pop, and choral music styles.

Conduct vocal warm-ups, breathing exercises, and performance techniques.

Prepare students for solo and group performances in school assemblies, concerts, inter-school events, and competitions.

Assist in organizing school musicals, talent shows, and other cultural programs.

Collaborate with the music department (instrumental faculty, choir, band, etc.) for cross-disciplinary projects.

Contribute to the broader life of the school including boarding duties, pastoral care, and school events as per residential school norms.

Encourage student participation.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelors/Masters degree in Music (preferably Western Vocal) from a recognized institution.

Formal training or certification from reputed music boards (e.g., Trinity College London, ABRSM) is a strong advantage.

Minimum 23 years of teaching experience in a school or performing arts setup.

Excellent vocal technique and understanding of music theory.

Ability to play the piano or guitar to accompany students will be an additional weightage.

Strong communication skills, patience, and a student-centric approach to teaching.

Willingness to live on campus and actively engage in the residential school environment.
