About the Role
Ciena's Blue Planet team is seeking a skilled Front-End UI Developer with deep expertise in Angular, TypeScript, and PrimeNG to help build intuitive, high-performance, and scalable interfaces for our industry-leading network automation and orchestration platform. You will work closely with UX designers, backend engineers, and product teams to bring rich, data-driven network operations experiences to life in the browser.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop responsive, modern user interfaces using Angular (latest versions), TypeScript, PrimeNG, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Create reusable UI components and templates aligned with design and performance best practices.
- Integrate Angular applications with backend REST APIs to deliver dynamic and interactive views.
- Handle asynchronous data operations and state management effectively.
- Write unit tests for all UI components to ensure maintainability and quality.
- Participate in peer code reviews and maintain high coding standards.
- Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and responsiveness.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and accessibility (WCAG compliance).
- Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, collaborating closely with designers, QA engineers, and backend developers.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and continuous delivery pipelines.
Required Skills & Experience
- Angular (strong proficiency, 3+ years hands-on experience).
- TypeScript (advanced working knowledge).
- PrimeNG UI component library.
- JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3 (expert level).
- Ability to write unit tests using frameworks like Jasmine/Karma or Jest.
- Experience integrating UI applications with REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of modular architecture and reusable component patterns.
Good to Have Skills
- Experience using NX for monorepo management.
- Experience with Storybook for UI component documentation.
- Familiarity with state management libraries (NgRx, Akita).
- Background in network automation, telecom, or cloud orchestration domains.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines for front-end applications.
