Product Development Lead

Engineering Manager

Job Purpose:
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire engineering team, managing project timelines, and ensuring that the platform is developed according to specifications. This role requires a mix of technical leadership, project management, and people management skills to guide the team in building a scalable, robust digital signage solution

Roles and Responsibilities
:

Team Leadership
:

• Lead the engineering team, including frontend, backend, DevOps, and QA engineers, as well as optional roles like mobile engineers and data analysts
• Mentor and provide guidance to individual team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation

Project Management
:

• Coordinate with the management on the product roadmap to define project goals, timelines, and deliverables
• Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure timely completion of tasks
• Oversee the development cycle, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives

●      
Technical Oversight
:

• Play the role of the Solution Architect to define the system architecture and ensure it aligns with business requirements
• Review and provide feedback on code, design documents, and system implementations to maintain high standards
• Ensure that best practices for coding, testing, and DevOps are followed across the team

●      
Stakeholder Communication
:

• Act as the main point of contact between the engineering team and stakeholders, including clients, the product team, and upper management
• Present regular updates on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders

●      
Resource Planning
:

• Allocate resources effectively, balancing team workload and prioritizing tasks based on project needs
• Identify skill gaps in the team and coordinate with HR for hiring and onboarding new team members

Quality Assurance
:

• Ensure that the development process includes adequate testing, code reviews, security and quality checks
• Work with QA engineers to implement automated testing processes and maintain high standards of software quality and security

Continuous Improvement
:

• Lead efforts to improve development processes, including CI/CD, code quality, and deployment practices
• Promote a culture of learning by organizing knowledge-sharing sessions, code reviews, and team workshops

Skills and Qualifications
:

Experience
:

• 7+ years of experience in software development with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role
• Proven track record of architecting and leading engineering teams in building SaaS platforms or large-scale web applications

●      
Technical Expertise
:

• Proficient in frontend and backend technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, , Python, etc.). Full stack capabilities with cloud, mobile and embedded background would be preferred
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization)
• Familiarity with headless CMS solutions (Strapi, Contentful, Crafters etc.) and digital signage technologies is a plus

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience in managing software development lifecycles
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and work with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to make strategic decisions, solve complex problems, and provide technical guidance to the team

Reporting Line
:

●      Reports to: Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and President Innovation and Product Development

●      Collaborates closely with: Management, DevOps Engineer, and QA Engineer
