Strategy & Plan

  Manage the material in project stores, create a material request to purchase departments, issue material to requisite team when needed and get it properly documented.  Plan storage of material, ensure proper stacking and storing of material, organize checking of material for quality and quantity of the material.  Manage overall day to day operation of stores in relation to material receiving, storing, issuing along with necessary documentation and inventory management.  Organize the Store Security for the security of material and records kept in the store to avoid later conflicts.  Carry Out arithmetical calculations in order to determine material quantity and reconciliation of material along with the contractor once in a month.  Control and manage the system for scrap disposal and oversee the control of weighbridges.  Select appropriate location in store/stock yard for storing of material/items keeping in mind storing system based on frequency of movement .

Control & Record

  Prepare relevant documentation to control and manage the movement of men and material in and out of the store.  Check all formality related to incoming items such as delivery challan, invoice, purchase order, test certificate, weight slip etc. Issue the GRN (Good Receipt Note) to the contractors for incoming material and organize the quality checks as per required specifications.  Keep a track of the material ordered versus material received for all projects to plan the storage of balance material Follow up with vendors for timely and safe delivery of material on site. Ensure proper unloading and transfer of material to the store.  Ensure material is checked for adequacy such as breakage, distortion, and deterioration by the sub-ordinate before unloading.  Ensure location in stores/stock yards are marked with label/tags for easy identification, retrieving of material/items.  Ensure good housekeeping and proper hygiene standards are being followed in the stores.  Ensure all material/items in the store/stock yard are only stored up-to their shelf-life period or expiry period and shall be stored separately or returned to vendor after expiry of shelf life .
