Role & responsibilities:

  • Validate Smart / Power / Energy Meters (1, 3, LTCT, HT).
  • • Perform tamper tests magnetic (AC/DC), neutral disturbance, current reversal, bypass, terminal short.
  • • Validate relay performance, endurance, and switching reliability.
  • • Conduct high-voltage impulse tests up to 30 kV, insulation, leakage tests.
  • • Verify jammer immunity (RF, GSM, GPRS, NB-IoT).
  • • Ensure compliance with IS 16444, IS 13779, IS 15959, IEC 62052/62053.
  • • Perform environmental, EMC/EMI, surge, and thermal tests.
  • • Operate validation instruments power analyzer, oscilloscope, HV tester, surge generator, magnet source, jammer setup.
  • • Prepare validation and tamper test reports for utility approvals and third-party labs (ERDA, CPRI).
  • • Drive RCA and CAPA; recommend hardware improvements.
  • • Coordinate with design, QA, and certification teams.

Preferred candidate profile:

  • Knowledge of Smart Meter hardware (MCU, metering IC, SMPS, relay, RTC, comm modules).
  • • Expertise in tamper testing, magnet & relay validation, 30 kV impulse, jammer immunity.
  • • Familiar with BIS/IS/IEC standards and utility test protocols.
  • • Hands-on with validation tools and automation.
  • • Analytical, reporting, and team coordination skills.
