Job Description

The Special Educator will be responsible for assessing and supporting children with developmental, learning, or behavioural challenges through individualized educational programs. The role involves close collaboration with therapists, parents, and other professionals to enhance each child's overall development — academic, social, emotional, and functional — within a therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess each child's learning abilities, strengths, and developmental needs through observation and standardized tools.
  • Design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) aligned with therapy goals and developmental milestones.
  • Provide structured, engaging, and goal-oriented educational sessions within a therapeutic framework.
  • Modify and adapt learning materials and methods to suit each child's pace and ability level.
  • Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and parents to create integrated intervention plans.
  • Track, document, and report each child's educational and behavioral progress regularly.
  • Support functional learning areas such as communication, self-help, social skills, and pre-academic skills.
  • Conduct parent counseling and training sessions to help families continue educational support at home.
  • Maintain accurate student records, lesson plans, and progress reports in line with centre policies.
  • Participate in team meetings, workshops, and professional development programs to ensure best practices in special education.
