Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Video Editor located in Gurugram. The Video Editor will be responsible for creating, editing, and enhancing video content. Daily tasks will include video production, video editing, video color grading, and motion graphics. The Video Editor will also work on graphics and collaborate with the creative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit video content for various platforms (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook / Meta ads, Google ads, etc.).
  • Create scroll‑stopping intros, strong first few seconds ("hooks") to retain viewer attention.
  • Repurpose existing footage / assets (UGC, product demos, testimonials) into fresh ad creatives.
  • Add appropriate motion graphics, text overlays, visual effects, transitions, sound design.
  • Colour grading, editing audio, syncing sound, ensuring clean visuals.
  • Collaborate with creative team / marketing / performance / media buyers to understand briefs, feedback, and metrics.
  • Work with tight deadlines, multiple campaigns in parallel.
  • Ensure all creatives adhere to brand guidelines—tone, look & feel.
  • Stay current with platform‑trends & best practices for formats, aspect ratios, mobile optimisation, etc.
  • A/B test variants of video creatives and iterate based on performance and metrics (CTR, CVR, view‑through rate, retention).
  • Occasionally assist in filming / supervising shoots (if required) or directing unskilled talent.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: Usually
    2‑5+ years
    editing videos, especially for D2C / eCommerce / performance advertising contexts.
  • Strong proficiency with video editing tools/software: e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve.
  • Good understanding of motion graphics, text design, transitions, sound editing & basic effects.
  • Portfolio / reel demonstrating social media video editing, ad creatives, UGC style, product videos.
  • Ability to understand performance metrics and use feedback/data to improve creative output.
  • Good sense of timing, pacing, storytelling, visual composition.
  • Strong attention to detail & consistency.
  • Good communication skills; ability to take feedback & iterate quickly.

Nice To Have

  • Experience with UGC / influencer content, testimonial edits.
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms (Shopify, Amazon, Flipkart etc.), or website video assets.
  • Some knowledge of video SEO, YouTube optimisations.
  • Basic design skills (for thumbnails, banners, static creatives) to complement video work.
  • Experience directing or shooting video (lighting, camera, set up) could help.

Performance Metrics / Goals (How you will be measured)

  • Quality of video output (engagement, retention, visual polish)
  • Speed / turnaround time (how fast you can move when needed)
  • Contribution to increases in CTR / CVR / ROAS (if working on paid ads)
  • Ability to iterate & reduce revisions
