Role & responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day maintenance and smooth functioning of all school infrastructure classrooms, laboratories, hostels, administrative buildings, playgrounds, and common areas.
  • Oversee and ensure proper operation and upkeep of all electrical, civil, plumbing, HVAC, firefighting, DG sets, water pumps, and other utility systems.
  • Implement preventive and routine maintenance schedules for all facilities and equipment to avoid breakdowns and ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Lead and monitor a team of technicians, electricians, plumbers, and housekeeping staff to complete maintenance work efficiently, safely, and within timelines.
  • Coordinate with the school administration and facility teams to support academic and event-related maintenance requirements.
  • Supervise AMC vendors, service providers, and contractors for quality service and cost control; maintain vendor performance records.
  • Oversee installation, repair, and maintenance of technical systems like CCTV, PA systems, classroom projectors, and fire alarm systems.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety, fire, and statutory norms, maintaining a secure environment for students and staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections and safety checks of buildings, equipment, and utility systems; take corrective actions promptly.
  • Handle emergency and breakdown maintenance issues with quick root cause analysis to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain complete maintenance logs, checklists, and vendor service reports for management review.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Qualification: Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: 20+ years in Maintenance / Facility Management, preferably in schools, universities, or institutional setups.
  • Industry Preference: Educational Institutions, Facility Management, or Real Estate (Institutional Projects).
  • Should have independently handled large campus facilities and maintenance teams.
  • Good understanding of fire & safety protocols, child safety norms, and compliance requirements in educational environments.
  • Proven experience in team supervision, vendor coordination, and handling multi-building maintenance operations.
  • Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage emergencies, prioritize maintenance tasks, and ensure safe, functional infrastructure
