Incharge- Scrub Nurse

• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day activities of the Cath Lab to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field; assist interventional cardiologists during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures such as angiography, angioplasty, and device implantation.
• Maintain strict asepsis, sterility, and infection control protocols throughout all interventional procedures.
• Anticipate the cardiologists needs and ensure the availability and functionality of all instruments, catheters, guidewires, contrast injectors, and consumables.
• Conduct pre-procedure checks for equipment, hemodynamic monitoring systems, and radiation safety compliance.
• Verify patient identity, consent, site preparation, and relevant investigations as per the Cath Lab safety checklist.
• Label, document, and dispatch specimens or samples as per institutional and NABH protocols.
• Accurately record intra-procedure nursing care, instrument and consumable usage, stent/implant details, and radiation exposure data.
• Coordinate with cardiologists, anaesthetists, technicians, and nursing staff to maintain seamless procedural workflow.
• Assist in managing intra-procedural complications and emergency interventions such as cardiac arrest or vascular rupture.
• Ensure compliance with NABH standards, hospital SOPs, infection control practices, and medico-legal documentation norms.
• Supervise and train Cath Lab nursing staff in scrub techniques, aseptic practices, and emergency preparedness.
• Monitor inventory, manage procurement of consumables, and ensure proper maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Participate in quality assurance, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives for Cath Lab performance and safety.
