Job Description:

  • Experience with Docker and the Docker File specifically to ensure it will build and run not only locally but in AKS.
  • Often to diagnose Docker images we need to be able to run the image locally until we get it to work as expected and it is far faster to do that work locally than it is to run it through the pipeline.
  • Like local might be 1 minute and pipeline might be 30+ minutes just to run a test.
  • Now imagine someone needing to do this multiple times until they get it figured out.
  • ADO YAML pipelines experience.
  • GHA YAML pipeline experience.
  • AKS YAML config experience.
  • Git experience to work with repo files.
  • Cloud Smith Experience.
  • Hashi corp Vault.
  • Not extensive knowledge but able to understand how it works from secrets perspective.
  • GitHub & GitHub Actions experience.
  • This is not just a technical move, it is also a workflow change as well, which can be very disruptive to the team so there will need to be training or coaching or mentoring of the team around workflow.
  • This could take longer than the technical stuff.
  • Experience with making whatever application to be moved run. (Like do they know Java enough to get it running locally and in AKS.
