Job Purpose:

To lead the structural design, analysis, and coordination of high-rise building projects, ensuring all designs meet UAE regulations, international standards, and project specifications. The role involves technical leadership, design review, site coordination, and close collaboration with architects, MEP teams, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed structural design and analysis for high-rise and complex concrete and steel structures.
  • Review and approve design drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.
  • Ensure designs comply with local authority requirements (Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Trakhees, etc.).
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and draughtsmen.
  • Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors for smooth project execution.
  • Conduct structural assessments and provide value engineering solutions to optimize cost and performance.
  • Attend technical meetings, site inspections, and progress reviews.
  • Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and design basis documents.
  • Ensure quality assurance and control procedures are implemented throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum
    8 years of experience
    in structural design and supervision, with at least
    5 years in the UAE
    .
  • Proven experience in
    high-rise residential or commercial towers
    .
  • Strong knowledge of design codes (ACI, BS, ASCE, UBC, etc.).
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as
    ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit Structure
    .
  • Familiarity with UAE authority standards and approval procedures.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Membership or chartership (e.g., UAE Society of Engineers, ICE, IStructE) is an advantage.
