Job Summary

Qualification / Experience:

  • 12 years of experience in handling Mainframe Technology and Toolset.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent from a recognized institute.
  • Must have strong hands-on experience across Mainframe and DevOps technologies.
  • Experience with GitHub Copilot or equivalent DevOps tools is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience working with Australian banks will be considered a valuable asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Mainframe technologies with hands-on experience in z/OS, CICS, DB2, IMS, COBOL, JCL, REXX, RACF, schedulers, and associated tools/languages.
  • Provide technical leadership in Mainframe-to-DevOps transformation, including hands-on involvement in CI/CD pipelines and toolchains.
  • Drive Mainframe modernization and hosting initiativesevaluate legacy systems and propose cloud/off-cloud modernization strategies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Micro Focus, TSRI, Astadia, mLogica, TmaxSoft).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including delivery, alliance/vendor partners, and platform teams to deliver integrated modernization solutions.
  • Conduct enablement sessions for Mainframe teams focusing on industry trends, DevOps adoption, and modernization best practices.
  • Independently perform Proof of Concepts (POCs) in available infrastructure and steer towards successful outcomes.
  • Engage with stakeholders, customers, and senior management to understand business opportunities and provide consultative solutioning.
  • Represent Tech Mahindra in customer connects, technical forums, and conferences, highlighting Mainframe and DevOps capabilities.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, proactive problem-solving, and stakeholder relationship management.

Skill Set:

  • In-depth knowledge of Mainframe subsystems and architecture (hardware/software), Mainframe ISV stack (Broadcom, BMC, Rocket, etc.), and enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of Mainframe migration strategies, optimization techniques, hosting models, and DevOps/CI-CD enablement.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tooling, especially GitHub Actions, GitHub Copilot, Jenkins, UDeploy, and related toolchains.
  • Proficiency in z/OS systems, DB2, IMS, CICS, TSO/ISPF, REXX, RACF, Mainframe Schedulers, Print Software, and end-to-end DevOps toolsets.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in migrating mainframe workloads to modern IBM and non-IBM systems such as LinuxONE, WatsonX, Raincode, and AWS Mainframe Modernization/Transform.
  • Exposure to the Australian banking domain and familiarity with their technology stack and operational nuances will be highly regarded.
