Sr. Software Dev Manager, Alexa Shopping

Alexa Shopping team located in Bangalore is looking for an Sr Software Development Manager to deliver strategic goals for Alexa Shopping suite of products. This is an opportunity to join our mission to build tech solutions that delight Shopping customers. You will be responsible for building new system capabilities grounds up for strategic business initiatives. We operate in a high performance co-located agile ecosystem where SDEs, SDMs and Product Managers frequently connect with end customers of our products. We pride ourselves in being able to keep overheads minimum and being able to be the most productive and agile one can be, ensuring we deliver the most impact to our customers.
We operate like a start-up within the Amazon ecosystem and have proven track record of delivering inventions that work globally. You will often find yourself building products and services that are new to Amazon and will have an opportunity to pioneer not just the technology components but the idea itself across other Amazon teams and markets.
We are looking for a Senior Software Development Manager who can lead technology teams in a highly distributed and scalable environment. The leader will collaborate with a diverse and talented team across the world. Those who seek a challenge, are eager to learn, and want to make an impact on global customers should apply.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead teams of talented software engineers and managers, fostering their growth and development while delivering critical components of architecture.
- Own the vision and roadmap your charter.
- Invent new ways to improve the customer experience
- Collaborate with your teams and partner teams to invent, design, and develop highly available and scalable distributed systems.
- Build and manage partnerships and cross-org commitments with customers and dependency teams.
- Work with your teams, your peers, senior management, and senior engineers to implement best practices in software development and operational processes.
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
- Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications
