We are hiring a
Senior Full Stack Engineer (MERN Stack)
for our client in the OTT/streaming business, based in Kolkata. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of experience in building high-performance, scalable web applications, with deep expertise in the MERN stack. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, cutting-edge projects, leveraging modern frameworks, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices to deliver robust and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in full-stack web development, with a strong focus on the MERN stack.
  • Expertise in (including functional components, Hooks, Context API).
  • Strong proficiency in state management libraries like Redux, Zustand, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Experience with front-end build tools (Webpack, Vite).
  • Expertise in and for building scalable server-side applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of MongoDB (including Mongoose ODM) and experience with complex queries, indexing, and performance optimization.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and experience building robust APIs.
  • Proficiency with TypeScript is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Git and standard version control workflows.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.

Good to have skills

  • Experience with GraphQL.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda).
  • Experience with real-time technologies like WebSockets (Socket.IO).
  • Exposure to other databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis) for specific use cases.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio.
