Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Laptop and Desktop Support Engineer / Hardware and Networking Engineer to join our IT team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong understanding of computer hardware, troubleshooting, and networking concepts. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of desktops, laptops, and network infrastructure while ensuring seamless IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Support

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform hardware upgrades, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
  • Assist in asset management and maintain accurate inventory records of IT equipment.

Software & OS Support

  • Install and configure operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and software applications.
  • Troubleshoot software-related issues, system crashes, and performance problems.
  • Assist with system imaging and deployment for new employees.

Network Support

  • Support the installation and configuration of network devices (routers, switches, access points, firewalls, etc.).
  • Assist in diagnosing network connectivity issues and basic troubleshooting.
  • Monitor network performance and report irregularities to senior staff.
  • Provide basic support for LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.

Technical Assistance

  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users via calls, emails, and in-person assistance.
  • Document and track support requests, issues, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
  • Assist in setting up new workstations, network configurations, and user accounts.

Learning and Development

  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, best practices, and security protocols.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain documentation for hardware, software, and network configurations.
  • Assist with IT audits, reporting, and compliance.
