L3 WAF Security Engineer

We're looking for an experienced L3 WAF Engineer with deep hands-on expertise in Akamai Web Application Firewall (WAF) to design, implement, and manage secure web application environments at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and optimize Akamai WAF rulesets including Kona Rules and Bot Manager Premier.
  • Develop and fine-tune custom security rules based on application behavior and threat intelligence.
  • Manage versioning, staging, and deployment of WAF rules across environments.
  • Implement best practices for Akamai security products (WAP, Kona Site Defender, Edge).
  • Mitigate OWASP Top 10 threats (SQLi, XSS, CSRF, SSRF, etc.).
  • Configure Client-Side Protection (CSP) and related headers to prevent data leakage.
  • Lead application onboarding/offboarding into Akamai WAF including assessment, policy design, and tuning.
  • Troubleshoot and remediate complex security incidents in collaboration with network and application teams.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Expertise in Akamai WAF (KSD, WAP) and rule management.
  • Strong understanding of Web Application Security, OWASP Top 10, and CSP.
  • Hands-on experience with Firewall Administration, Network Security, and Cisco Security Solutions.
  • Familiarity with Vulnerability Management and ASM frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
