Job Description: Network Survey Vehicle Operator
Position Overview:
The Network Survey Vehicle (NSV) Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining specialized vehicles equipped with advanced surveying and data collection equipment. These vehicles are used to conduct surveys of road networks, highways, or other infrastructure for the purpose of mapping, road condition assessment, and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Operation:
Safely operate and maintain the network survey vehicle across designated routes.
Ensure compliance with traffic laws and safety standards during all field operations.
Survey Data Collection:
Operate and monitor onboard survey equipment, such as GPS, cameras, and pavement condition sensors. Ensure the accurate collection of road network data, including topography, road conditions, and signage.
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of the survey equipment and vehicle.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues to ensure uninterrupted operation.
Coordination: Communicate effectively with the survey team and follow predefined routes and schedules to meet Cliental requirements.
Report issues, such as roadblocks or equipment malfunctions, to supervisors promptly.
Documentation and Reporting:
Document daily operations, including routes covered, data collected, equipment performance and any issues encountered.
Provide feedback on survey progress for report creation and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to health, company safety protocols and environmental regulations during fieldwork.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip safety checks of the vehicle and equipment.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Diploma in Civil Engineering field; additional technical training is a plus
Soft Skills:
· Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics and troubleshooting.
· Proficiency in using computers and survey-related software.
· Good communication and teamwork skills. Compliance with safety protocols.
· Extensive fieldwork, often in varying weather and traffic conditions.
· Frequent travel to different locations as required by the job.
· Physical fitness may be necessary for handling equipment or conducting occasional manual inspections.
