Azure Administration Manager

Location : (Remote as per project requirement) Contract To Hire

Experience : 12 15 Years

Role Overview :

The Azure Administration Manager will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing the organizations Azure cloud infrastructure. This includes oversight of Azure resources, cost management, governance, automation, and ensuring best practices for cloud performance and compliance. The role requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise in Azure services, and experience leading a team of cloud administrators and engineers.

Key Responsibilities :

Azure Infrastructure Management :

- Oversee day-to-day management and administration of Azure resources including Virtual Machines, VNets, Azure Active Directory, Storage Accounts, App Services, and Load Balancers.

- Monitor and optimize cloud performance, availability, and capacity planning.

- Manage Azure subscriptions, resource groups, and access policies using RBAC and Azure Policy.

- Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery (Azure Backup, Site Recovery), and high-availability configurations.

Cloud Governance & Security :

- Define and enforce governance, compliance, and cost management policies across Azure environments.

- Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to security standards and regulatory requirements.

- Implement identity and access management, MFA, and conditional access policies.

Automation & Optimization :

- Drive automation initiatives using PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM templates, and Terraform.

- Optimize resource utilization and implement cost-saving strategies (reserved instances, scaling policies, etc.).

- Manage patching, updates, and configuration management using Azure Automation.

Leadership & Collaboration :

- Lead and mentor a team of Azure administrators and cloud engineers.

- Collaborate with architects, developers, and operations teams to ensure stable and scalable Azure environments.

- Provide technical guidance and participate in architecture and design discussions for new cloud solutions.

Monitoring & Reporting :

- Use Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for proactive monitoring.

- Generate periodic reports on resource utilization, cost optimization, and compliance posture.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 1215 years of total IT experience with at least 57 years in Azure Cloud Administration.

Strong hands-on experience in :

- Azure Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking, and App Services

- Azure Active Directory and Identity Management

- Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and Azure Policy

- Backup, DR, and monitoring solutions in Azure

- Experience in automation using PowerShell, Terraform, or Azure DevOps.

- Solid understanding of Azure governance, cost management, and compliance frameworks.

- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Certifications preferred :

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)

- ITIL Foundation (optional but advantageous)
