Position Title: L2 Satcom Specialist

Department: Satcom Operations

Location: Mumbai - Andheri(with onsite & offshore assignments)

Reporting To: Head of Department

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced L2 Satcom Specialist to join our Satcom Operations team. The role involves the design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and support of satellite communication systems across maritime, offshore, and enterprise environments.

This position is critical for ensuring reliable and secure communication links and requires a strong background in RF systems, satellite protocols, networking, IT security, and on-site deployments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and support satellite communication systems: VSAT, Fleet Xpress, FBB, Iridium, Thuraya, OneWeb, Starlink, KVH, Intellian, Citadel, Isatphone etc.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to RF systems, modems, routers, firewalls, and IP networks.
  • Provide remote & onsite technical support for maritime, offshore, and enterprise clients.
  • Ensure integration of Satcom systems with onboard IT, CCTV, NavCom, and security infrastructure.
  • Monitor performance, conduct preventive maintenance, and manage fault resolution.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed service documentation, installation reports, and customer support records.
  • Collaborate with OEMs, vendors, and internal teams for escalated issue resolution.
  • Stay updated on emerging Satcom technologies (e.g., Starlink, OneWeb, Citadel).

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of: KVH, OneWeb, Starlink, Inmarsat, Iridium, FBB, Citadel, Intellian systems.
  • Expertise in IP networking, firewalls, and IT security protocols.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting with RF terminals & Satcom hardware.
  • Experience in CCTV, IT, and NavCom systems integration.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Ability to work in offshore/maritime environments under challenging conditions.
  • Flexible, proactive, and a strong team player with customer-first mindset.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree / Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunications, IT, or related field.
  • 58 years' experience in Satcom / RF / IT / NavCom systems (minimum 2 years at L2 level).
  • Valid passport & willingness to travel internationally and offshore as per project requirements.
