Role Overview:

The Teaching Assistant (TA) in Applied Economics will support faculty members in instructional delivery, research support, student mentoring, and academic coordination. The role is ideal for a candidate aspiring to build an academic career through hands-on teaching and research exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior faculty in preparing lecture materials, research papers, and case studies.
  • Conduct tutorial sessions, doubt-clearing classes, and student engagement activities.
  • Support evaluation processes including assignments, quizzes, and internal assessments.
  • Assist in coordinating research, seminars, and academic events.
  • Maintain academic records, student attendance, and project documentation.
  • Provide analytical and research support using econometric tools and data visualization techniques.
  • Contribute to departmental activities, academic coordination, and learning resource development.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Masters degree (M.A. / M.Sc. / M.Phil.) in Economics / Applied Economics from a recognized university.
  • Candidates pursuing or planning to pursue a Ph.D. will be given preference.
  • 0–3 years of relevant teaching or research assistance experience in an academic setting.

Preferred Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong conceptual understanding of Applied Economics and quantitative techniques.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and statistical software (SPSS, R, or STATA).
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for academic research and continuous learning.
