Sustainext is a looking for a Software Tester who has experience in both automaton and manual testing.

The Software Tester should have a strong understanding of software testing methodologies, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products

This role requires hands-on experience working with B2B SaaS products, solid understanding of technical concepts, and strong communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Participate in requirement review sessions to identify testable scenarios and ensure clarity in understanding.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing to ensure software meets quality standards and requirements.
  • Execute test cases manually and, if applicable, automate test cases using appropriate testing tools.
  • Identify and document defects and inconsistencies in the software's behavior, following a structured defect reporting process.
  • Validate defect fixes and verify that changes do not adversely affect existing functionality.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated test scripts and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with the automation team to identify test cases suitable for automation and support continuous test automation efforts.
  • Work closely with development teams to provide detailed information about defects and assist in their resolution.
  • Track and manage defects using issue tracking tools, ensuring proper documentation, prioritization, and resolution.
  • Maintain documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results.
  • Generate test summary reports, including metrics and testing outcomes, to communicate progress and quality status to stakeholders.
  • Identify areas for process improvement within the testing lifecycle and contribute to the enhancement of testing methodologies.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in software testing - manual and automation testing.
  • Working knowledge of Python, Django, PostgreSQL and ReactJS.
  • International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) certification or similar testing certification is a plus.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong knowledge of software testing concepts, methodologies, and practices.
  • Experience with test case design, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in using testing tools and frameworks.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies is advantageous.
  • Excellent MS Office Skills.
  • Awareness on industry best practices and emerging trends in software testing to enhance overall testing effectiveness.
