Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced 
Senior Laravel Developer
with 6-8 years of hands-on experience in PHP and Laravel framework to lead our backend development team. The ideal candidate will not only design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications but also guide a team of developers, drive technical decisions, and ensure successful project delivery. Strong experience with Microsoft Azure is required for cloud architecture, deployment, and team-wide best practices.

This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring, code governance, and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture, development, and maintenance of complex backend systems and RESTful APIs using Laravel and PHP.
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and interactions using Eloquent ORM and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Oversee deployment, management, and scaling of applications on Microsoft Azure, including services like App Services, Azure Databases, Queues, Functions, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement secure, testable, and efficient code while enforcing team adherence to best practices (SOLID principles, MVC architecture).
• Integrate third-party services, APIs, and frontend technologies (e.g., , React, JavaScript, HTML/CSS).
• Conduct regular code reviews, drive refactoring efforts, and minimize technical debt across the team.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level developers, fostering skill growth and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, DevOps, and other teams to align on requirements and timelines.
• Lead technical discussions, sprint planning, and architectural decisions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Establish and maintain development standards, processes, and documentation for the team.
• Stay updated with Laravel updates, PHP advancements, and Azure features to guide team adoption.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• 6-8 years of professional experience in PHP development, with at least 5 years focused on Laravel (versions 8+ preferred).
• Proven experience deploying and managing Laravel applications on Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Web Apps, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Functions, DevOps).
• Demonstrated leadership experience, such as leading a development team, managing projects, or mentoring developers.
• Strong proficiency in PHP 8+, object-oriented programming, and Laravel ecosystem (Eloquent, Blade, Queue, Cache, Artisan).
• Expertise in building and consuming RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization (e.g., Sanctum, Passport), and middleware.
• Solid understanding of databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), query optimization, and migrations.
• Experience with version control (Git), testing frameworks (PHPUnit, Feature Tests), and CI/CD tools.
• Familiarity with frontend integration (JavaScript frameworks like or React is a plus).
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and cloud best practices.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to drive projects, make architectural decisions, and manage team performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience leading Agile/Scrum teams as a tech lead or similar role.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio of Laravel-based applications.
• Certifications in Laravel, PHP, Azure (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate), or leadership-related credentials.
