Machine Learning Engineer - Cultivation Optimization



Duration: 6 months



Start Date: Flexible 



Location: Bali, Indonesia 



Program: Ex Venture Academy 



Position Overview 



Work with the Ex Venture Academy team at Lemnamat to develop machine learning models that optimize duckweed cultivation conditions for maximum protein content and biofuel potential. This elite internship offers hands-on experience creating AI systems that continuously improve growing parameters based on real-time data analysis. 



AI Focus Areas 



Through Ex Venture Academy's structured learning approach, you will:

  • Develop predictive models for optimizing cultivation parameters (light, temperature, nutrients) 
  • Create reinforcement learning systems for continuous cultivation improvement
  • Implement machine learning pipelines for protein content maximization
  • Design algorithms that balance multiple optimization targets (growth rate, protein content, biofuel potential) 
  • Build AI systems that reduce resource inputs while maximizing valuable outputs 


Responsibilities 

  • Assist in developing machine learning models for cultivation parameter optimization
  • Help implement data processing pipelines for sensor inputs and system outputs
  • Support the integration of predictive models with automated control systems
  • Collect and prepare datasets for model training and validation 
  • Contribute to the development of multi-objective optimization algorithms
  • Participate in Ex Venture Academy's AI skill development workshops 


Qualifications 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Machine Learning, AI, Data Science, or a related field 
  • Strong academic record with a minimum GPA of ./. or equivalent
  • Experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
  • Knowledge of reinforcement learning and optimization algorithms
  • Programming skills in Python and relevant data science tools 
  • Understanding of time-series data analysis and predictive modeling
  • Interest in agricultural applications of AI technology 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset aligned with Ex Venture Academy's values
