Godown Supervisor

The Godown Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse or storage facility (godown). This includes managing inventory, supervising loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper storage and safety of materials, maintaining accurate stock records, and coordinating with logistics and sales teams for smooth dispatch and receipt of goods.

1. Key Responsibilities:Inventory Management

• Maintain up-to-date records of all incoming and outgoing materials.
• Conduct regular stock verification and reconciliation.
• Ensure proper labeling, stacking, and placement of items.

1. Godown Operations

• Supervise loading and unloading activities to prevent damage or loss.
• Ensure all goods are stored safely and systematically.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the godown.

1. Team Supervision

• Assign daily tasks to warehouse staff and laborers.
• Monitor staff performance and ensure adherence to company policies.
• Train new workers on safety and operational procedures.

1. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare goods receipt notes (GRNs), delivery challans, and stock registers.
• Submit daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports to management.
• Coordinate with accounts and purchase departments for inventory records.

1. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with company safety standards and procedures.
• Oversee proper handling of goods to prevent damage or accidents.
• Report any irregularities or losses immediately to management.
• Qualifications & Skills:Graduate or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in warehouse/godown operations.
• Knowledge of inventory software (ERP/WMS preferred).
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to handle manpower efficiently.
• Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, Word).
• Work Environment:Based in warehouse or godown location.
• May require overtime or weekend work during peak dispatch periods.
