  1. JOB PURPOSE

Handling of Direct tax related matters of the Company pertaining to estimation of advance tax liability, advise on withholding tax related provisions, representation before taxation authorities, obtaining of Lower tax deduction certificates from tax authorities, assistance in tax audit and other day to day direct tax compliances.

AccountabilitiesKey Performance IndicatorsEnsuring timely filing of Tax Audit report & Form 3CEB along with coordination with Tax Auditors so as to have no adverse qualification

  • Ensure timely filing of tax audit report and form 3CEB
  • Ensure clean audit report from the auditors

Computation of total income & tax thereon and filing of IT return with in statutory time limits

  • Ensure accuracy in the IT return
  • Ensure timely filing of IT return

Ensuring timely payment of Statutory dues (TDS)and submission of returns within statutory time limit along with rectification of TRACES default

  • Ensure Accuracy in the TDS returns
  • Ensure timely payment of TDS dues

Resolution of Audit queries of Internal & Statutory Auditors and taking corrective action on observations made by MAG for closure thereof.

  • Ensure clean audit report from the auditors

Providing information/details for various fund raising initiative at DIAL/GAL

  • Ensure provision of complete and accurate information

Providing desired support/guidance to various departments on tax related issues and compliance thereof and timely action on various tax amendments

  • Advising any amendments in tax laws and implementation thereof

Ensuring timely submission of Appeals & reply of all letters/Show Cause notice/Notices received from tax departments and represent our case before the statutory authorities

  • Ensure timely filing of appeal/ reply to SCN raised by tax authorities

Review of TDS receivable with form 26AS, TDS certificates received and books of accounts so as to claim full TDS in ITR

  • Ensuring claim of full TDS credit

Analyzing & submission of information/documents for IT assessment &TP assessment along with presentation of the case before the AO.

  • Ensuring timely submission of information within due date
  • Ensuring completion of assessment proceedings in time

Ensuring submission of documents/information for filing LTDC application and 281 application

  • Ensuring availment of LTDC

Internal Controls: Ensuring proper control system in place to avoid any non compliance Team Development: Develop functional skills of sub-ordinates by providing them training, understand and address their concerns and provide environment for them to develop.Training needs, Additional tasks assigned from time to time.

Financial Dimensions

Estimation of advance tax liability of around Rs. 200 crores.

Obtaining of LTDC from taxation authorities for annual revenue of around Rs. 5300 crores.

Deposit of monthly TDS liability amounting to Rs crores (approx..)

Other Dimensions

(Indication of some of the significant volumes associated with the job like number in team/ staff handled etc).

Responsible for managing a team of 2-3 peoples

Educational Qualifications

Qualified Chartered Accountant

Core competencies and General Skill & Attributes,

Core competencies:

  • Expert knowledge of income tax matters
  • Expert knowledge of transfer pricing regulations
  • Expert knowledge of handling income tax litigation matters before various statutory authorities
  • Excellent drafting skills
  • Keeping abreast of latest day to day tax amendments/ tax reforms
  • Providing guidance on taxation matters to team members within the organization
  • Ability to address various audit issues related to taxation arising from time to time and ensure clean audit reports

Skills required:

  • Problem solving, analytical skill, excellent problem solving skills, creativity, decision making, leadership and team management, team player, interpersonal skill, effective communication, manage multiple priorities and stakeholder management.

Relevant and total years of Experience

8-10 years of post qualification experience with minimum 4-5 years experience in similar profile
