What's this role about?

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD pipelines that support software development and deployment, with a primary focus on the AWS platform. This role requires expertise in AWS cloud services, ensuring efficient, secure, and scalable delivery of applications and services.

Here's how you'll contribute:

• Implement and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure to support platform services, ensuring high availability and security.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Support platform performance optimisation, ensuring cost-efficient and scalable operations.
• Implement and manage containerisation solutions using AWS ECS, EKS, and Fargate.
• Monitor and manage infrastructure health and performance using AWS CloudWatch, and third-party tools.
• Assist in enforcing security and compliance standards using IAM, AWS Security Hub, and AWS WAF.
• Work closely with DevOps, security, and engineering teams to enhance platform capabilities and CI/CD workflows.
• Support data engineering and analytics teams by ensuring smooth operation of data pipelines and integration layers.
• Troubleshoot platform-related issues and provide operational support for cloud infrastructure components.

Skills required to contribute:

Hands-on (Must have) 3+ years of working experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field with 3 - 5 years of experience in cloud platform engineering, AWS infrastructure, and automation.
• Strong understanding of AWS services, including EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation, and AWS Organisations.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and EKS.
• Familiarity with AWS networking, VPC configurations, security groups, and load balancing.
• Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, and AWS X-Ray.
• Awareness of security best practices, compliance standards, and identity access management within AWS.
• Experience working within CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies to support infrastructure automation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in an agile, collaborative team environment.
