VTK/ITK Developer (Medical Imaging Software Project)

Role Overview

We are seeking a VTK/ITK Developer to join our software development team. The developer will be responsible for implementing and optimizing core imaging workflows, including Multi-Planar Reconstruction (MPR), 3D rendering, and integration of ITK-based image processing with VTK-based visualization. This role will form the backbone of our imaging platform, ensuring smooth handling of large DICOM datasets with accurate rendering and efficient performance.

Key Responsibilities

* Implement DICOM reading pipelines using ITK.

* Develop synchronized axial, coronal, sagittal MPR views using VTK.

* Integrate 3D volume rendering pipelines (ray casting, GPU acceleration).

* Implement window/level controls, slice navigation, zoom, pan, rotate interactions.

* Add crosshair synchronization between views.

* Support surface extraction workflows (Marching Cubes).

* Optimize rendering for large datasets using level-of-detail and GPU techniques.

* Ensure Qt/VTK integration for interactive visualization.

* Collaborate with AI and OpenCV developers to merge visualization with advanced image analysis features.

Required Skills

* Strong experience with C++ development.

* Proficiency in VTK (rendering, volume rendering, interaction).

* Familiarity with ITK for medical image IO and processing.

* Experience with Qt for UI integration.

* Understanding of 3D transformations, reslicing, and rendering pipelines.

* Ability to debug and optimize for real-time performance.

Preferred Skills

* Familiarity with OpenGL/DirectX/Metal for GPU optimization.

* Knowledge of medical imaging standards (DICOM, NIfTI).
