Role & responsibilities :

  • Prepayment Solution Design

  • Define prepaid business processes (token management, recharge, top-up, refunds, arrears recovery, reconnection/disconnection).

  • Translate regulatory requirements (CEA, CERC, SBD4) into functional specifications for MDMS.
  • Develop use-cases and workflows for prepaid functionality across utilities under RDSS.

  • Integration & Delivery

  • Coordinate integration between MDMS, HES, utility billing systems, CRM, and third-party payment gateways.

  • Support solution architecture design for scalable, multi-utility prepaid operations.
  • Validate meter compatibility for prepaid modes (STS / non-STS tokens, online/offline prepayment).

  • Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with DISCOMs, IntelliSmart, system integrators, and Cuculus product teams to ensure alignment.

  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) during RFP responses, bid compliance, and project presentations.
  • Provide inputs for training, change management, and consumer awareness campaigns.

  • Operations & Monitoring

  • Define KPIs for prepaid meter adoption, recharge success rate, disconnection/reconnection SLAs, and revenue assurance.

  • Establish monitoring dashboards and exception handling processes (failed recharge, fraud detection, duplicate transactions).

Preferred candidate profile :

  • Technical Expertise

  • Strong understanding of prepayment business models in electricity distribution.

  • Experience with Smart Metering solutions (HES/MDMS), billing systems, and digital payment ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of token-based (STS) and account-based prepayment models.

  • Domain Knowledge

  • Familiarity with RDSS scheme requirements, REC guidelines, and Indian utility business processes.

  • Understanding of regulatory compliance (CEA regulations, NCIIPC, CERT-In, ISO 27001 preferred).

  • Professional Experience

  • 712 years of experience in utility sector IT/OT projects, with at least 3–5 years in prepaid metering.

  • Prior involvement in large-scale AMI or smart metering projects in India or abroad.

  • Other Competencies

  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work across multi-vendor environments.
  • Excellent communication skills for customer and partner engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • MBA/PGDM in Power Management or equivalent (preferred).
  • Certifications in STS prepayment, MDMS systems, or payment gateway integration (advantage).
