Job Summary

We are seeking a responsible and experienced Staff Nurse (Shift Incharge) for the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department. The candidate will supervise nursing activities during the assigned shift, ensure high-quality patient care, maintain discipline, and support smooth functioning of the ward/Labour Room/Nursery area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage nursing staff during the shift.
  • Ensure proper patient care in Labour Room, Gynae Ward, and Postnatal areas.
  • Monitor vitals, maintain treatment charts, and assist doctors during rounds and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness, infection control, and readiness of Labour Room equipment.
  • Ensure proper handover and documentation between shifts.
  • Handle emergencies and assist in deliveries, LSCS, and related procedures.
  • Maintain stock of medicines, consumables, and equipment.
  • Educate and counsel patients and attendants regarding care and hygiene.
  • Ensure proper record keeping (consent forms, case sheets, treatment charts).
  • Report any incidents, breakdowns, or patient issues promptly to the Nursing Superintendent or management.

Requirements

  • Qualification: GNM / B.Sc. Nursing (Registered with State Nursing Council).
  • Experience: Minimum 2–4 years in Obstetrics & Gynaecology ward or Labour Room.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and patient-handling skills.
  • Ability to manage staff and emergencies during night shifts.
  • Knowledge of infection control and hospital protocols.

Salary

  • As per experience and qualification.

  • Rotational Shifts (Morning / Evening / Night)
