The Role:

LeadSquared is looking for an Intern to join our Information Security team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates or early-career professionals to build a strong foundation in cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management to gain real-world, hands-on experience.

The role involves supporting client RFI/RFP responses, third-party risk assessments, and compliance activities under various frameworks such as ISO 27001, HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, DPDPA, RBI, SEBI, and IRDAI. The position also includes exposure to cloud security and security operations, providing a

well-rounded experience across information security functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Security Assessments and RFI/RFP Support (50–60%)

• Assist in responding to client security and compliance questionnaires, RFIs, and RFPs.
• Coordinate with internal teams to collect required evidence and information.
• Maintain and update a knowledge base of standard responses and compliance documentation.
• Use AI tools and solutions to automate responses.

Third-Party Risk Management (20–25%)

• Support vendor risk assessments and due diligence activities.
• Review vendor compliance documents and identify potential risks or security gaps.
• Maintain the third-party risk register and track remediation actions.

Compliance and Regulatory Support (10–20%)

• Assist in implementing and maintaining compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001, HIPAA, SOC 2
• Support risk assessment, internal audits and evidence collection for certifications and assessments.
• Contribute to compliance documentation, reports, and improvement initiatives.

Security Operations and Cloud Security Exposure (10-15%)

• Support monitoring of security alerts and security incident management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in information security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 0–1 year of experience in information security, compliance, or IT risk management (internship or project experience accepted).
• Internship, academic, or personal projects related to cybersecurity, compliance, or data protection.
• Completed coursework, certifications, or projects in information security e.g., ISO 27001, CompTIA Security+, Certified in Cybersecurity (ISC2), or similar.
• Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills
• Strong interest in cybersecurity, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).
• Basic understanding of security and privacy frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27701, etc.) is a plus.
• Familiarity with BFSI security or compliance requirements (RBI, SEBI, IRDAI) is an advantage.
