Job Title: Multiple Database Administrator (Sr. DBA)

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced MS SQL Database Administrator with 8+ years of expertise to manage and optimize our databases. This role involves supporting multiple databases, ensuring high performance and data security, and working collaboratively with stakeholders to address database needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in Databases Server management, along with effective communication and customer service abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support DB Server databases, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of database instances.
• Perform performance tuning and query optimization to enhance database efficiency.
• Conduct routine data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Implement and monitor backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies, including Always On Availability Groups and replication.
• Regularly monitor database health, logs, and security measures to maintain data integrity.
• Support database updates, upgrades, and migrations.
• Collaborate with application developers and business teams to design efficient database structures and troubleshoot issues.
• Provide periodic updates on database performance, maintenance, and incidents.
• To work from GOC Pune Office - shift and roster based alignment (No wfh / hybrid positions available)

Skills and Qualifications:

• Database Administration: Proficient in MS SQL / SQL / Oracle / Mongo / Cosmos and other multiple databases Server management, installation, configuration, and maintenance across multiple environments.
• Performance Tuning and Optimization: Skilled in query optimization, indexing strategies, and troubleshooting slow-running queries using SQL Profiler, Database Engine Tuning Advisor, and Activity Monitor.
• Backup and Recovery: Strong knowledge of backup and recovery strategies, including point-in-time recovery, log shipping, and disaster recovery planning.
• Security and Compliance: Expertise in database security practices such as role-based access, encryption, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• ETL and Data Integration: Experience in creating and managing ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Automation and Scripting: Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell for database automation and routine tasks.
• Monitoring and Maintenance: Experience with health monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Redgate) for proactive database management.
• Communication and Documentation: Ability to effectively communicate technical details and document processes, runbooks, and incident reports.
• Customer Service and Support: Proven experience in working with end-users to resolve issues and manage customer requirements.
• Reporting and Analytics: Basic knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for report generation and analysis.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Equivalent work experience and relevant certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Good-to-Have Certifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
• Microsoft Certified: MSSQL/Oracle/ SQL and / or other Server Database Administrator

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Strong coordination and teamwork skills for working with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to present database status, performance insights, and incident resolutions to management and stakeholders
• Worked in a command center / gcc / noc center preferable
