Job Descritpion of Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure(ACI) Admin

6-8 Years of Relevant Experience

We are looking for an experienced Cisco ACI Administrator to design, deploy, and manage modern data center networks using Cisco's policy-driven SDN technology. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ACI fabric, policy-based automation, and Nexus 9000 series switches, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security across enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage Cisco ACI environments, leveraging policy-based automation to streamline network configuration and operations.
  • Utilize Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC) for centralized management of the ACI fabric.
  • Design and maintain spine-leaf architecture to replace traditional three-tier data center topologies, enhancing scalability and efficiency.
  • Configure and manage Cisco Nexus 9000 switches, ensuring optimal operation in both ACI and NX-OS modes.
  • Develop and enforce network and security policies tailored to specific application needs.
  • Implement microsegmentation for granular policy enforcement, improving data center security posture and reducing the attack surface.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize ACI fabric performance, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum reliability.
  • Collaborate with network engineers, application teams, and security professionals to align infrastructure with business and operational goals.

Essential Skills & Expertise

  • 6–8 years of relevant experience in network administration, including Cisco ACI design, deployment, and management.
  • Strong understanding of policy-based SDN concepts and ACI architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • APIC (Application Policy Infrastructure Controller)
  • Spine-Leaf topology and fabric design
  • Cisco Nexus 9000 switches in ACI and NX-OS modes
  • Microsegmentation and policy enforcement
  • In-depth knowledge of data center networking, VLANs, VXLAN, and security segmentation.
  • Experience in automating network configurations and managing ACI objects, tenants, and application profiles.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco Certifications such as CCNP Data Center, CCIE Data Center, or ACI Specialist certifications.
  • Experience integrating ACI with multi-cloud environments and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python, REST APIs).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and performance tools.
