Job Title: System Administrator/Network Engineer

Qualification: BCA/BCS

Job Summary:

Responsible for managing, maintaining, and ensuring the stability, security, and performance of computer systems, networks, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

System Administration:

  1. Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems, software, and hardware.

  2. Monitor system performance, logs, and security.

  3. Implement backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.

  4. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control.

  5. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues.

Network Engineering:

  1. Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).

  2. Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

  3. Ensure network security, segmentation, and access control.

  4. Monitor network performance, traffic, and logs.

  5. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues.

Shared Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with development teams for system integration.

  2. Ensure compliance with security policies and standards.

  3. Document system and network configurations and procedures.

  4. Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

  5. Provide technical support to users.

Required Skills:

  1. Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and/or Unix.

  2. Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).

  3. Familiarity with virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

  4. Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

  5. Experience with network devices (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba).

  6. Knowledge of network security technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).

  7. Familiarity with IT service management tools (e.g., ITIL).

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, CCNP, MCSA).

Skills and Tools:

  • Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, Unix

  • Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, firewalls

  • Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V

  • Scripting: PowerShell, Bash

  • Security: firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS

  • ITSM: ITIL
