Principal Engineer

We are seeking a talented individual to join our IT team at Marsh.

This role will be based either in Pune or Mumbai office.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications that enhance our client services and internal operations.

You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements and improve user experience.

MERN Stack - Principal Engineer (Full Stack Developer)

Responsibilities

• Codes, tests and debugs software programs and meets project plan goals under limited guidance from senior software developers.
• Works independently to design and develop small technical modules.
• Assists with repairing coding problems.
• Provides technical support to clients on existing problems escalated as appropriate.
• Provides support through help desk; monitors trends and results from technical support calls to advise senior team members on performance of existing systems.
• Acts as a technical resource for other analysts on the team.
• Works with a team to develop project plans and communicate software development plans.

We will count on you to:

• Operating as a strong Full Stack Engineer (React, ).
• Designing, developing, and maintaining highly responsive web applications using modern web development technologies and frameworks.
• Building and maintaining server-side applications and APIs using languages such as , ensuring robust functionality and performance.
• Coding, testing, debugging software modules, deploying using CI/CD, and meeting project plan goals.
• Developing reusable software components and basic to moderately complex application code to support business requirements with proficiency and knowledge in customer-facing applications.
• Participating in peer code reviews.
• Escalating problems as appropriate.
• Exhibiting good troubleshooting and technical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in full stack web development, with a strong focus on both front-end and back-end technologies.
• Strong experience with front-end technologies, including , or Angular development.
• Strong experience with back-end technologies, including , and RESTful API development.
• Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and data modelling.
• Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
