The incumbent should be a Chartered Accountant (CA) with a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in manufacturing and listed companies is a must. The candidate must demonstrate strong expertise in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, budgeting & cost control, statutory compliance, internal controls, ERP/financial systems implementation, and cross-functional leadership.

Job Description:

Position Overview

Coordinate and oversee the company's financial activities - including accounting, financial planning, budgeting, MIS, internal controls, corporate finance, fund management, working capital management, and secretarial functions - ensuring all procedures and reporting systems comply with generally accepted accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic:

  • Establish and maintain a financial policy framework to guide decision-making on reserves, expenses, income streams, and grants.
  • Validate key assumptions in strategic plans and annual budgets; advise senior management accordingly.
  • Provide financial analysis and guidance to the Leadership Team on proposed initiatives and projects.
  • Participate in project management teams as required.
  • Monitor service metrics and deliverables to ensure consistent performance.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly dashboards tracking Finance & Accounting processes.
  • Conduct business performance trend analyses and recommend improvements.
  • Oversee ERP implementation and review existing EDP systems, recommending upgrades where necessary.

Financial:

  • Maintain financial records to meet external, legal, and tax requirements.
  • Ensure all financial and regulatory reports comply with company, auditor, and statutory standards.
  • Prepare the annual budget aligned with the companys strategic business plans.
  • Compile and circulate MIS data to the Leadership Team on a monthly or fortnightly basis.
  • Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts; monitor daily cash position to ensure creditors terms are met.
  • Manage tax liabilities, liaising with auditors to minimize the organizations tax burden within legal frameworks.
  • Conduct financial analysis and prepare reports for the Chairman and Leadership Team.
  • Review statutory returns (Customs, VAT, PF, Income Tax, Excise) to ensure timely and accurate filings.

Secretarial & Treasury Functions:

  • Forecast cash flow and review corporate working capital policies.
  • Anticipate additional funding needs and secure funds via debt, equity, or policy adjustments.
  • Use hedging/netting strategies to mitigate risks from asset values and interest rate changes.
  • Maintain proactive communication with bankers on the companys financial condition and borrowing requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Company Secretary to ensure accurate documentation of Board meetings and compliance with business laws.

Accounting:

  • Ensure compliance of financial accounting systems with all applicable laws.
  • Maintain accurate fixed asset and depreciation records.

Compensation & Payroll:

  • Provide inputs for compensation revisions and payroll planning.
  • Oversee payroll system maintenance and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.
