Role Description

We are looking for an experienced
Freelance Data Engineer
with strong expertise in
Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Snowflake, Unity Catalog, PySpark, Kafka, and SQL
. You will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines, integrating structured and unstructured data sources, and enabling advanced analytics across cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement
    ETL/ELT pipelines
    using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
  • Develop scalable data processing solutions with
    PySpark
    on Databricks.
  • Manage and optimize
    Snowflake data warehouses
    with
    Unity Catalog
    for governance and security.
  • Integrate streaming and real-time data pipelines using
    Kafka
    .
  • Write complex
    SQL queries
    for data transformation, aggregation, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data pipelines.
  • Apply best practices in data security, governance, and compliance.

  • Strong experience with
    Azure Data Factory
    for data orchestration.
  • Hands-on expertise in
    Azure Databricks
    and
    PySpark
    for data engineering workloads.
  • Proficiency in
    Snowflake
    data warehouse with experience in
    Unity Catalog
    .
  • Solid knowledge of
    Kafka
    for streaming data pipelines.
  • Strong SQL skills for performance-tuned queries and transformations.
  • Experience in building
    scalable, production-grade data pipelines
    .
  • Good understanding of data governance, cataloging, and security practices.
