Assistant Manager / Manager Payroll & Compliance

Job Summary:

We are looking for an Assistant Manager / Manager -Payroll & Compliance to lead payroll operations and statutory compliance across BVC Logistics, on-roll and off-roll workforce pan-India. The role involves managing payroll accuracy, vendor coordination for outsourced staff, ensuring adherence to all statutory regulations, leading audits, and supporting management with compliance strategy.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead end-to-end payroll processing for on-roll and off-roll (outsourced/contractual) employees across India.
  • Validate attendance, overtime, allowances, deductions, and incentive payouts for both on-roll and off-roll staff.
  • Coordinate with manpower agencies / vendors to ensure accurate payroll inputs for off-roll workforce.
  • Verify vendor compliance documents (PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, challans, returns) for off-roll staff before invoice processing.
  • Ensure timely disbursement of salaries and settlements for both categories of employees.
  • Monitor and ensure filing of statutory returns (PF, ESIC, PT, Bonus, Gratuity, etc.) across multiple states.
  • Handle payroll reconciliations, audits, and statutory inspections including vendor compliance audits.
  • Drive automation and process improvements for on-roll and off-roll payroll.
  • Guide payroll & compliance team and support branches in vendor compliance checks.
  • Resolve escalated employee/vendor payroll and compliance issues.
  • Prepare MIS reports covering both on-roll and off-roll workforce costs for management review.

Qualification & Experience

  • Graduate/Post-Graduate in Commerce, Finance, or HR (MBA/PGDM preferred).
  • 7 /12 years of proven experience in payroll & compliance, including handling of off-roll/outsourced workforce.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state statutory compliance and Indian labor laws.
  • Hands-on experience in vendor compliance management and payroll software/HRMS.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills for payroll reconciliation & reporting.
  • Experience managing audits, inspections, and vendor due diligence.
