Role & responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code using the Rails framework.
  • Develop backend components, connect applications with other (often third-party) web services, and support the frontend developers by integrating their work with the application.
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
  • Maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality features.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Ruby on Rails developer (minimum [X] years).
  • Strong understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design patterns.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React or is a plus).
  • Experience with Git and version control workflows.
  • Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., RSpec, Minitest).
  • Good understanding of RESTful APIs and microservice architecture.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Heroku, or GCP.
  • DevOps experience or understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Agile/Scrum development experience.
